About tierpile
tierpile turns your Steam library into a tier list: every game you own goes into a tier from S to F, and the ratings of everyone who did the same add up to a global ranking of Steam games.
What you can do here
Sign in with Steam, and your library shows up as a queue of games to rank. You place a game into a tier, it becomes your rating, and your tier list is a page you can share.
Rating a game requires owning it. That is the whole point of signing in through Steam: a rating here means someone actually has the game, which is what makes the global ranking worth reading.
How the global ranking works
A game’s place in the ranking comes from the ratings people gave it — an average in which games with few ratings are trusted a little less until the ratings add up.
Without that, one enthusiastic rating would outrank a game with thousands of them. The ranking updates on its own, so a rating you just gave shows up in it a little later.
Only ratings of games from the rater’s own library count: a rating nobody can back with ownership never reaches the ranking.
Where the data comes from
Game titles, cover art, release dates, genres, review summaries and your library all come from Steam. The catalogue is kept up to date, so new releases turn up here on their own.
